Book: Heterogeneous Catalysis for the Synthetic Chemist

Although I know some about heterogeneous catalysis, I wanted to learn more technical details about it. So I borrowed this book from the library; read and studied it over 24 hours. I took a lot of notes and I hope they will be useful in my future career. The book really amazed me. The first half of the book is about the principles, metal catalysts, supported catalysts, supports, catalyst preparation, reaction conditions and kinetics. The second part focuses on organic transformations and in particular selectivity of these reactions.

I am not sure if this book is intended to be a textbook, but it should be taught as one in graduate school.

  1. Hi, I was searching for something and I fumbled on your blog. Then I read a few sections from google books and it had explained those concepts in a very clear manner. I agree this book is amazing. I am doing PhD in catalysis and I love to read different sections from this book.
